Saturday, December 1, 2007. This movie made me cry out of sadness and also, what I recognize looking back on what I felt watching it, as my own guilt. I think the way the Asian American experience tied in to this movie was the way it treated family relationships, and how the notion of family changes or translates when shifted into an American context and a new set of cultural values. So it was hard to separate the image.

Increasing Asian American Representation! The Asian community in the United States increases every year. Meanwhile, representation in government and media have not followed. Is specifically focused on promoting Asian Americans for civic leadership. Asian Americans are improving their numbers, wealth, and education, but we are the forgotten minority. We are underrepresented in media outlets, academia, and government. It is time to change that. Support your local Asian American Candidates! .
